The Colorado Rockies are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team that was established in 1991.The Rockies began playing in the MLB in 1993 as an expansion team. They compete in the National League West division and have had a colorful history in the league.

Though the team has yet to win a World Series, they have made several playoff appearances. The Rockies first tasted postseason action in 1995, just their third season. They reached the playoffs as a wild card team but fell to the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series (NLDS). The Rockies returned to the playoffs in 2007, winning the wild card game in dramatic fashion and going on to win the National League Championship Series (NLCS) before losing to the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. Since then, the Rockies have made the playoffs a few more times, most recently in 2018, but have yet to make it past the NLDS.

The Colorado Rockies have been home to numerous talented players over the years. Among them are Hall of Famer Larry Walker, who spent a decade with the team and was the first Rockies player to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Other notable players include Todd Helton, the team's all-time leader in hits, home runs, and runs batted in (RBI); Troy Tulowitzki, a five-time All-Star shortstop; and Nolan Arenado, an eight-time Gold Glove-winning third baseman. The Rockies' current roster boasts several exciting players, such as Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon.

Located in the heart of Denver, the Rockies' home stadium, Coors Field, is known for its picturesque views of the Rocky Mountains and its hitter-friendly altitude. Opened in 1995, the stadium has a seating capacity of 50,144 and features a unique blend of modern amenities and classic ballpark charm. Coors Field has also hosted events such as the 1998 MLB All-Star Game and the 2021 All-Star Game, further cementing its status as a premier MLB venue.

One unique aspect of the Rockies is the "humidor" used at Coors Field. Due to Denver's high altitude and dry climate, baseballs tend to fly further in the thin air, resulting in higher-scoring games. To counteract this, the Rockies store their baseballs in a humidor, a climate-controlled room that keeps the balls slightly damp, reducing their bounciness and travel distance.
